Inland Tavern Chef Cook-off gives food for thought in fight against binge-drinking – Weekend Breakfast with Gugs Mhlungu



Gugs is joined by Pebetsi Molefi and Moud Kgomo

Top tavern chefs from the inland provinces of Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Limpopo and North West got a chance to test their culinary skills on Tuesday in the regional final of the Mzansi Tavern Chef Cook-off. This thanks to a partnership between Heineken Beverages, Nederburg Wines and the National Liquor Traders, and featuring MasterChef’s Pete Goffe-Wood and Benny Masekwameng the competition aims to promote food serving in taverns and combat binge drinking. Moud Kgomo from Bafokeng Liquor Store in Vosloorus and Pebetse Molefi from Maling’s Inn in Pretoria smoked the competition to each claim first place in, respectively.
